How to read the result
An estimate, not an assessment
This tool applies a simple slab calculation to the figures you enter. It does not know about your allowances, credits, prior adjustments or the specific rules that apply to your taxpayer category.
- Taxable income — annual income plus other income, less the deductions you entered.
- Annual tax — the slab calculation applied to that taxable income.
- Effective rate — annual tax as a percentage of taxable income.
- Balance — annual tax less the tax already deducted, shown as payable or refund.
Use it to plan, then have the position reviewed before you file.
